After a bank of key code training units is purchased for your division, share the key code number with those whom you want to pay for session registration with training units.   Once they have the key code, they may use it as payment for any Tier 1 or Tier 2 session that has a price.

  • The user finds the session, either by search or from the local events calendar.
  • On the training details, the user sees and clicks an ‘Add to Cart’ button instead of the usual ‘Request’ button when the session is not free.

  • The session is added to the user’s shopping cart.  The user may Proceed to Checkout or Continue Shopping if there are more session seats to be purchased.

  • On the Payment screen, the user clicks the Payment Method drop down and chooses Training Unit (Key Codes).

  • The screen refreshes, displaying a field in which to enter the key code number.  The user enters or pastes the key code number into the field and clicks the Apply button.

  • The screen refreshes again, validating the key code number.  If the number is valid for the user and still has unused training units, the screen displays the quantity needed and the quantity available.  If the key code is not valid, not available to the user, and error message will display.  If there are not enough training units remaining to cover the purchase, the user is alerted.  The user clicks the Next button to continue.

  • The Review screen displays, allowing one more chance to ensure everything is correct before submitting the order.  Click the Place Order button to complete the purchase.

  • The Confirmation screen displays, confirming the purchase and providing quick instructions on how to view this and previous transactions via the My Account screen.   In most cases, the user is now registered for the session, and the training unit purchase quantity has been deducted from the key code.

  • If the user visits their Transcript screen, they can view their current status for the session.   If the status is ‘Registered,’ they have secured a seat in the class.  If a different status appears, further actions may be needed to register.

  • If the user later finds they can no longer attend the session, from the transcript screen they click the drop-down selector to the right of the session and select ‘Withdraw.’  If the user withdraws prior to the session start time, the training units are automatically refunded, and will be available for another person to use.   Please note that credit card payments are not automatically refunded in SLU.  Credit card refunds are processed outside of SLU, according to BGCA policy.
